I have 9 years expereince working in science and healthcare regulation at the Health and Safety Executive (regulatory toxicology), Public Health England (cervical screening) and the Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority as an inspector of fertility clinics and research laboratories, working extensively on the regulation of mitochondrial donation and gene editing. 

I joined ̽»¨¾«Ñ¡ in 2017 as Senior Lecturer in Biomedical Science with a focus on reproductive sciences and bioethics. I was programme lead for the BSc Biomedical Science Course leading the course through IBMS reaccreditation, and Deputy Chair of the Clinical Sciences Programme Management Board. I held the position of Faculty Head of ̽»¨¾«Ñ¡ Ethics between 2018-2021, chairing the Faculty ̽»¨¾«Ñ¡ Ethics Committee. I remain a member of a Health ̽»¨¾«Ñ¡ Authority (HRA) ̽»¨¾«Ñ¡ Ethics Committee (REC). 

In 2021 I moved to ̽»¨¾«Ñ¡ Services Directorate leading the ̽»¨¾«Ñ¡ Governance Team with a broad remit including research ethics and integrity, research governance (including NHS sponsor requirements), open research, research impact, and project and data compliance.

My research background is in reproductive toxicology and endocrine disruption, with expertise in cell and molecular biology/toxicology. I remain interested in bioethics, particularly relating to research with human embryos. 

2018-2020 - Programme Leader for the IBMS accredited BSc Biomedical Science programme.

2017-2021 - Module Lead BIOM1010 Basic Anatomy and Physiology, a large year one module on both the Biomedical and Medical Science programmes. My areas of teaching were primarily: anatomy and physiology, connective tissues, reproductive sciences, endocrinology, histology and histopathology, healthcare science quality, regulation and ethics. I supervised undergraduate and postgraduate research projects with a focus on meta analysis related to fertility.
